In response to a question tabled by Curtorim MLA Reginald, Finance Minister Manohar Parrikar informed that for the year 2016-17, an amount of Rs 41.68 crore and Rs 43.29 lakh has been realized on account of operation and marketing of online and paper lottery, respectively.
The operational state lottery schemes include online/digital weekly lotteries (23 per day), Everest weekly lottery (one draw per week) and Mahalaxmi weekly lotteries (six draws per week).
The State government has appointed M/s Summit Online Trade Solutions Pv. Ltd as the marketing agent for marketing and selling of Goa State Lotteries with a Minimum Guaranteed Revenue (MGR) of Rs 12 crore per annum for turnover of up to Rs 1,000 crore and 0.25 per cent beyond turnover of Rs 1,000 crore.
It was also informed that the government has increased the Minimum Guaranteed Revenue by 25 per cent for the year 2017-18 to Rs 15 crore.
